Darrel Scoville (born October 13, 1975 in Swift Current , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with HC Alleghe in the Italian A1 series .

Career

Darrel Scoville began his career as a hockey player with the Lebret Eagles, for which he was active in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in the 1994/95 season . Then the defender played for three years for the team of Merrimack College , before he received a contract as a free agent with the Calgary Flames on June 12, 1998 . During the three seasons that he spent in the Canadian franchise , he played almost exclusively for their farm team , the Saint John Flames from the American Hockey League , with whom he won the Calder Cup in the 2000/01 season . Only during the 1999/2000 season did the left shooter play six games for Calgary in the National Hockey League .

After he could not prevail in Calgary Scoville signed on July 10, 2001 also as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets , for which he played ten more games in the NHL in the following three seasons. As in Calgary, he was again mainly in the AHL farm team of the Blue Jackets, with the Syracuse Crunch . During the NHL lockout in the 2004/05 season , the Canadian ran for the Hershey Bears and Providence Bruins in the AHL. In the summer of 2005 he signed with the EC VSV from the Austrian Ice Hockey League , with which he won the national championship in the 2005/06 season .

In the summer of 2009 Scoville was signed by Villach's league rivals EHC Linz . In August 2010 he moved to the Italian club HC Alleghe from the A1 series .
