Darren Barr Fletcher (born February 1, 1984 in Dalkeith ) is a Scottish football player .

Career

The central midfielder, who can also be used on the right wing, began his career in 1999 in the Manchester United youth team . Fletcher was brought to the first team in 2001, but did not make his league debut until September 27, 2003 in the game against Leicester City .

In December 2011 it was announced that Fletcher had had ulcerative colitis for a year . On medical advice, he interrupted his career as a football player.
