The 2003/04 FA Cup was the 123rd staging of the world's oldest football cup tournament; The Football Association Challenge Cup , or FA Cup for short . This cup season started with 661 clubs. For the fourth consecutive year the final guest appearance in the Millennium Stadium in Wales Cardiff .
The cup competition started with the extra preliminary round on August 23, 2003 and ended with the final on May 22, 2004. The winner of this event was Manchester United .

The FA Cup is played in rounds. Any team that has a certain level of performance and an appropriate playing field can take part. The game is played i. d. Usually only with a first leg. In the event of a tie, a second leg takes place. If the second leg also ends in a draw, the game goes into extra time or penalty shoot-out. This mode lasts until the sixth main round. From the semi-finals onwards there is only one game, possibly with extra time and penalty shoot-out. Each winner receives a bonus from the television money, which is staggered according to the round.
Main round
First main round
The games were played on November 7th to 9th, 2003. The replay took place on November 18th and 19th.
Second main round
The games were played from December 5 to 7, 2003. The replays followed on December 15-17 of that year.
Third main round
The games were played on January 3rd and 4th, 2004. Necessary replay games have been scheduled for January 13th and 14th.
Fourth main round
The games took place on January 24th and 25th, 2004. The required repetitions were played between February 3rd and 11th of that year.
