FA Cup 1908/09
The 1908/09 FA Cup was the 38th edition of the world's oldest football cup tournament, The Football Association Challenge Cup, or FA Cup . Manchester United won the competition for the first time with a 1-0 win over Bristol City in the final at Crystal Palace .

Main round
First main round
37 of the 40 clubs in the First and Second Division were added to the 12 clubs that qualified for the main round through the qualifying rounds. Of the remaining three clubs in the First and Second Division, Bradford Park Avenue played in the fourth qualifying round, while Gainsborough Trinity and Chesterfield started in the fifth qualifying round. Bradford lost the qualifier against Croydon Common and was eliminated. Ten non-league clubs have qualified for the main round with the two aforementioned football league clubs .
Fifteen other non-league clubs completed the main round with 64 teams with a bye:

Fourth main round
The quarter-final games were all scheduled for March 6th, but only 2 games were played on that day. The game between Burnley and Manchester United was played first on March 5th, but canceled due to bad weather conditions in the 72nd minute when the score was 1-0 for Burnley.
