The 1989/90 FA Cup was the 109th staging of the world's oldest football cup tournament; The Football Association Challenge Cup , or FA Cup for short . The cup competition ended with the replay of the final at Wembley Stadium on May 17, 1990. The winner of this event was Manchester United .

The FA Cup is played in rounds. Any team that has a certain level of performance and an appropriate playing field can take part. The game is played i. d. Usually only with a first leg. In the event of a tie, there will be a second leg. If this does not result in a decision, further repetitions are scheduled; until a winning team is determined. Each winner receives a bonus from the television money, which is staggered according to the round.
Main round
First main round
The games were played on the weekend of November 17, 1989. Most of the replays took place on November 21 and 22.
Second main round
The games were played on the weekend of December 9, 1989. The replay took place on the 12th to the 23rd of the month.
Third main round
The games were played on the weekend of January 6, 1990. Necessary replay games have been scheduled for January 9th to 17th.
Fourth main round
The games took place on January 27 and 28, 1990. The required replay games were played on January 30th and 31st.
