The FA Cup 1991/92 was the 111th staging of the world's oldest soccer cup tournament; The Football Association Challenge Cup , or FA Cup for short . The cup competition ended with the final at Wembley Stadium on May 9, 1992. This season, penalty shootouts after extra time were introduced in the replay games. Before that, another replay was scheduled in this case. The winner of this event was Liverpool FC .

The FA Cup is played in rounds. Any team that has a certain level of performance and an appropriate playing field can take part. The game is played i. d. Usually only with a first leg. In the event of a tie, there will be a second leg. If the second leg also ends in a draw, the game goes into extra time or penalty shoot-out. Each winner receives a bonus from the television money, which is staggered according to the round.

Semifinals

In the replay, the two teams met at Villa Park in Birmingham . The game between Norwich and Sunderland took place for the first time after the Hillsborough disaster three years ago at Sheffield Wednesday Stadium.
