The Phantom - The Hunt for Dagobert is a crime film by the director Roland Suso Richter from 1994. It is based on the extortion of the department store of the blackmailer Arno Funke , who became known as "Dagobert" .

Chief Inspector Paule Pietsch is given the job of hunting down Scrooge after an explosion in a department store and extortion. But due to internal friction, the police stop themselves in the investigation and Dagobert succeeds in duping the police when handing over money.

Dagobert is played by Klaus Funke, a cousin of the real blackmailer Arno Funke. The latter was captured the day after the script was completed, whereupon the ending of the film was changed.
