action

Albert, a young man from Paris who is currently looking for work, inherits from his uncle a snail farm and a country house in a small village in Burgundy . Upon his arrival, he is disappointed to find that the inherited property and its accessories are badly run down. When Albert makes the acquaintance of Margot, a young student who studies snails and conchyllology , the world looks much brighter again. It is also Margot who gives him access to the rather conspiratorial village community and its sometimes quirky residents.

Unfortunately, the young happiness is threatened by money worries, since the inheritance is also burdened with debts, which gives the couple an obscure idea. The villagers have a great passion, they love snail races with high commitment. Albert's snails should now fix it and win the upcoming snail race. Margot has discovered an extraordinary ability in one of the snails in particular, which could help the couple's plan to work. And he actually does.

criticism

The lexicon of the international film read: "A playful, lively comedy that focuses on everyday rural life and lovingly outlines the quirks of the villagers."

TV Spielfilm squeaked: “Snails on the train, not in the pan” and was of the opinion: “The comedy tells a nice purring story about life in the provinces and the quirks of the countryside. Author Laurent Bénégui also wrote the screenplay for Hippolyte's Festival . "
