action
Anne Kreutzer has been happily married to her husband Alfred for almost 50 years. Alfred works as a respected, emeritus law professor and now judge at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. In Würzburg they live in a beautiful house and have an idiosyncratic daughter: Gabi.
When Alfred suddenly dies of heart failure while rescuing a dog from the river Main shortly before the golden wedding anniversary, a world collapses for Anne. She receives a letter from the tax office, according to which she owes almost 200,000 euros in tax and must find out that her husband has led a double life in Strasbourg for 20 years with a much younger wife and a son.
Reviews
“(TV) drama in which an existence turns out to be an all too self-satisfied dream. The main character is not thought through consistently enough, but the fabulous main actress always compensates for this. Without being overloaded by an overly politically correct multicultural story, a good film of low tones could have been made thanks to the rather melancholy mood. "
