David Arata

David Arata is an American screenwriter who gained international fame through films such as Brokedown Palace - The Hope Is Last , Spy Game - The Final Countdown and Children of Men .

life and career

David Arata has been in the film business as a screenwriter since the late 1980s. He got his first credits in 1987 together with Mark Herder for the television film Two Frogs in High School by director David Grossman. In the late 1990s, he wrote the script for the Jonathan Kaplan film drama Brokedown Palace with Adam Fields - Hope dies last with Claire Danes , Kate Beckinsale and Bill Pullman in the leading roles. In 2001 he worked on Tony Scott's action thriller Spy Game - The Final Countdown with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt . ForAlfonso Cuarón's science fiction drama Children of Men with Clive Owen in the lead role received an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2007 together with Cuarón, Mark Fergus , Hawk Ostby and Timothy J. Sexton .
