David Bromberg (2019)

David Bromberg (born September 19, 1945 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American multi-instrumentalist and singer. He plays guitar and fiddle in the styles of bluegrass , blues , folk , country & western and rock 'n' roll .

Besides his own albums, Bromberg has made a name for himself as a studio musician . He recorded three albums for Bob Dylan ( Self Portrait , New Morning , Dylan ) and is on albums by Jerry Jeff Walker , Tom Paxton , Bonnie Raitt , Carly Simon , Doug Sahm , Willie Nelson , Ringo Starr , Edie Brickell and others. v. a. to listen.

Since 1980 Bromberg withdrew more and more from the active musician life and learned the profession of violin maker . Today he runs a violin shop in Wilmington / Delaware and only performs sporadically. In spring 2007, Bromberg released his first album in 17 years with “Try Me One More Time”.

Deutschlandfunk broadcast a one-hour portrait of Bromberg in the program Rock et cetera on February 1, 2015.
