David Brown (guitarist)

David Eugene Brown (* in Gloucester , Massachusetts ) is an American rock musician who was best known as the longtime guitarist of Billy Joel .

Career

Brown was born in Gloucester , Massachusetts and moved to New York City in the 1970s to pursue his music career. As a band member of Billy Joel had Brown on 13 of its platinum albums with, started 52 ^nd Street from 1978. Besides the world tour with Joel Brown also worked with musicians such as Paul McCartney , Phoebe Snow , Dr. John , Peter, Paul and Mary , Julian Lennon , Graham Parker or Bob James together. He also gained fame through his participation in the concert recording The Concert in Central Park by Simon and Garfunkel in 1982.
