2000 Years - The Millennium Concert is the third live album by the American musician Billy Joel .
background
The album was recorded on New Year's Eve 1999 in Madison Square Garden in New York City . 2000 Years - The Millennium Concert is Joel's first live album in which some pieces have been transposed into a lower key in order to accommodate Joel's voice, which has become deeper over the years. For example, Joel sings “I Go To Extremes”, “I've Loved These Days”, “Goodnight Saigon” and “Only The Good Die Young” in B flat major instead of in C major as in earlier versions .
Some versions of the album that were released outside of the United States also include the bonus track "This Is The Time". The Japanese release also includes “ Just the Way You Are ”.
