River of Dreams is the twelfth and so far last pop studio album by the American musician Billy Joel .
Emergence
In its entirety, “River of Dreams” is much more serious than its predecessors, since many pieces are about trust, long-lasting love, but also betrayal and resentment. Rumor has it that the musician took his inspiration for the composition of pieces like "All About Soul" and "The Great Wall of China" from the arguments with Frank Weber, his former manager and ex-brother-in-law, who allegedly tried to get the musician's money to embezzle, and to disguise this through dubious accounting practices.
The album cover was designed by Billy Joel's then wife, ex-model Christie Brinkley .
