Christie Brinkley (born February 2, 1954 in Monroe , Michigan ) is an American model , actress , designer and activist .

Life

Career

Brinkley became known for her three cover photos on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in the late 1970s and early 80s and her long-term contract with CoverGirl . In 2017 she built on her success and appeared again as the oldest model to date on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition .

Brinkley has also made appearances as an actress , illustrator , photographer , writer , designer, and an activist for human and animal rights and the environment .

Their financial investments amount to an estimated value of 80 million US dollars . Most of all, this includes owning real estate , much of it in the Hamptons .

Brinkley has appeared on over 500 front pages including Us Weekly , Vogue , Cosmopolitan , Glamor, and the best-selling issue of Life and has promoted numerous companies. She has been a testimonial for the beauty products of Merz Pharma in Frankfurt since 2019 .

Brinkley's first role as an actress was in the 1983 film The Shrill Four on the Road with Chevy Chase . In 1997 she also starred in the sequel The Shrill Four in Las Vegas .

Personal

Brinkley has been married four times. The first marriage to Jean-François Allaux was childless. Her daughter Alexa Ray Joel (* 1985) comes from her second marriage to the musician Billy Joel . The son Jack Paris Taubman (* 1995) comes from the third marriage with Richard Taubman and with her fourth husband Peter Halsey Cook she has another daughter Sailor Lee Cook (* 1998). Brinkley has been divorced since 2008.
