Hamptons
Hamptons or the Hamptons is the name of a region on the east end of Long Island in Suffolk County of the US state New York . The name is derived from the local cities of Southampton , East Hampton , Westhampton , Bridgehampton and Hampton Bays . The Hamptons are between 130 kilometers (Westhampton) and 230 kilometers ( Montauk ) from New York City .
For many decades, the Hamptons have been considered the Mecca of the super-rich and are primarily used by wealthy Americans as a weekend or summer residence. Numerous billionaires as well as personalities from industry, finance, film and television have their domiciles here. The most famous owners of a property include u. a. Mariah Carey , Steven Spielberg , Tiger Woods , Jennifer Lopez and Calvin Klein . The Hamptons property prices are among the highest in the world.

The film comedy Was das Herz suchttt (with Jack Nicholson ), through John Irving's bestseller Widow for one year , the first part of which was filmed under the title The Door in the Floor with Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger , and through Louis Begley's novel About Schmidt . Max Frisch's story Montauk takes place in the town of the same name on the easternmost tip of the Hamptons.
