reception

The use of an illustration by Dees for a school book for Klett Verlag caused an international sensation in early 2017. After the ak [due] ll - Studentische Zeitung for Duisburg, Essen and the Ruhr area had published an article about the anti-Semitic caricature, articles also appeared in Vice-Magazin and the taz , which made it public that Klett was an illustration to explain the 2007 banking crisis Dees, in which a Pac-Man controlled by the Rothschild banking house devours the European continent. Klett-Verlag stopped delivering the book. The Greens MP Volker Beck criticized that "the illustration could be used in schools for four years without anyone noticing their clear anti-Semitism or doing anything against the textbook."
