David Evans (Bishop)

David Ernest Charles Evans (born October 22, 1953 in Henley-on-Thames , Oxfordshire ) is a British clergyman and appointed Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Birmingham .

Life

David Evans was an alumnus of the Pontifical English College in Rome and graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University licentiates in the subjects philosophy and Catholic theology . He received on 29 July 1978, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After his ordination was David Evans 1979-1981 parochial vicar of the parish of St. Mary in Walsall and 1981-1983 parochial vicar of the parish of St. Aloysius in Oxford . Evans then served as an instructor and vice rector at St Mary's College , Oscott , before becoming pastor of St Austin Parish in Stafford in 2001 . From 2006 to 2007 Evans was Episcopal Vicar for Coventry , Warwickshire and Oxfordshire. He was then pastor of St. Theresa parish in Chalbury before becoming pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour parish in Rednal in 2014 . In 2019, David Evans also became Episcopal Vicar for Birmingham and Worcester .

On 18 March 2020 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Cuncacestre and Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham.
