David Fitzsimons (athlete)
David Fitzsimons ( David Thomas "Dave" Fitzsimons; born April 23, 1950 , † September 7, 2008 ) was an Australian medium and long-distance runner .
In 1974 he was ninth over 1500 m and sixth over 5000 m at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch .
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he came 14th over 10,000 m .
In 1977 he was third over 5000 m at the World Cup in Athletics in Düsseldorf and won the Pacific Conference Games . Over the same distance renounced at the Commonwealth Games 1978 in Edmonton on a start in the final, finished seventh at the Athletics World Cup in Montreal in 1979 and reached the semi-finals at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow.
Four times he was Australian champion over 5000 m (1974, 1977-1979) and 10,000 m (1976-1979).
