David Jakobs (born July 25, 1983 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German musical actor.

biography

At the age of 12, David Jakobs gained his first musical experience as a child actor in the musical Les Misérables as Gavroche. In 2011 he received his diploma in singing, acting and dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

During his studies David Jakobs could be seen in various roles, among others in Alkestis as Herakles (Pina Bausch-Theater), as Wolf / Prinz in Into the woods (Theater Hagen), as Roger in Rent (Deutsches Theater München), as well as Rob Gordon in the European premiere of High Fidelity (Rathaustheater Essen). After completing his studies, he made a guest appearance at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and played the leading role of Jerry Lukowski in The full monty (Oper Dortmund). In 2012 he played in The Who's Tommy at the Bielefeld Theater . Other roles followed, for example those of Claude in Hair (Landestheater Detmold) and Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (Stadttheater Bremerhaven, Theater Basel). David Jakobs embodied the role of Judas in J esus Christ Superstar again under the direction of Gil Mehmert from October 2013 at the Bonn Theater and in 2014 and 2015 at the Dortmund Opera.

In 2014 David Jakobs was seen as Boris in the continental premiere of Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng (Gärtnerplatztheater Munich). In the newly built Stage Theater on the Elbe, he played the role of Bruno Lubanski in the world premiere of The Miracle of Bern (musical) from November of the same year under the direction of Gil Mehmert . In 2016 David Jakobs returned to the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich as Claude in Hair and made his debut as Che in Evita at the Bonn Opera in September of the same year . He embodied the role again in the 2017/2018 season.

In 2017 and 2018 Jakobs played the role of the humpback bell-ringer Quasimodo in Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame in the Stage Theater des Westens in Berlin, in the Deutsches Theater in Munich and also in the Stage Apollo Theater in Stuttgart. In the summer of 2018 he appeared as Enjolras in Les Misérables on the stage of the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg . Since October 2018 he can be seen in the role of Frank W. Abagnale Junior at the Staatstheater Nürnberg in Catch me if you Can .
