David Mills (screenwriter)
David Eugene Mills (born November 20, 1961 in Washington, DC , † March 30, 2010 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) was an award-winning American journalist , writer and screenwriter . He was nominated for two Emmys (along with David Simon and others) in 2000 for The Corner series, and was nominated for Emergency Room and NYPD Blue in other years. He was the author of the 2003 US series Kingpin, which was canceled after six episodes .
Mills worked for the Wall Street Journal , the Washington Times, and the Washington Post . (Among other things) he was featured in a series written by the New York Times "How Race Is Lived in America", which was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 2000.
Mills died after a breakdown on the set of the series Treme .
