David Schaub

David Schaub is an animation supervisor, who at Sony Pictures Imageworks works and 2011 for Alice in Wonderland for the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects was nominated.

Life

In his childhood he lived in different countries through his father's profession, who worked for NATO . For example, when he was ten he lived in Belgium . He studied mechanical engineering and after graduating worked for Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo , California for almost 10 years . He then attended night school at the University of California, Los Angeles in animation and was hired by Sony Pictures Imageworks in 1995 .

His first film was The Witches Club , a horror film directed by Andrew Fleming . Then came films like Godzilla , Stuart Little and Cast Away . In 2001 the film Evolution followed , for which he worked as a character animator. In the following years he was animation director for the films The Chronicles of Narnia: The King of Narnia , Kings of the Waves and Alice in Wonderland . For Alice in Wonderland he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2011 together with Ken Ralston , Carey Villegas and Sean Phillips .
