David Unterberger (born September 23, 1988 in Bad Ischl ) is an Austrian ski jumper .

Career

Unterberger started for the first time on September 11, 2004 in an international FIS race . After he was able to steadily improve his performance, he was appointed to the B-squad in 2006 and started in Villach for the first time in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup on February 4, 2006 . At the Junior World Championships in 2007 in Tarvisio , Italy , he jumped to 14th place on the large hill. On September 15, 2007, he managed to jump into the top ten in the Continental Cup for the first time with a 6th place in Villach. At the Junior World Championships in Zakopane in 2008 , he jumped in individual jumping again as in 2007 to 14th place, but won the silver medal with the team. On December 14, 2008, he made it onto the podium in the Continental Cup for the first time in Vikersund . At the Winter Universiade 2009 in Yabuli Unterberger jumped to 5th place on the normal hill and won the gold medal on the large hill. He won silver with the team. In August 2009 he jumped for the first time in the Summer Grand Prix and reached the points in both competitions in Hakuba and in the end, together with Tomáš Zmoray and Severin Freund, he finished 72nd in the overall ranking.

In January 2011, Unterberger began his four-year training as a top police athlete with the Federal Police , which he completed in 2014.
