David Wilczewski
David "Dave" Wilczewski (born June 9, 1952 in Boston , † August 22, 2009 in Stockholm ) was an American fusion jazz saxophonist .
Wilczewski studied at the New England Conservatory of Music , where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1975. During his studies in Boston he played with Steve Smith , Mike Stern and Tim Landers, with whom he formed the band Vital Information . After graduating, he toured with Marvin Gaye , Tavares , Al Kooper and Harvey Mason . In 1982 he moved to Stockholm to play with Vital Information , Don Cherry , Vinnie Colaiuta , Bobo Stenson , Herbie Hancock , Nils Landgren , Peter Erskine , but also with Brian Wilson . Under his own name he released the album I Dont Know Betty But I Think You Can Dance to It in 1989 and the album Room in the Clouds in 2006 . As a studio musician , he was involved in more than 200 albums.
