Career

society

Davide Di Gennaro began his career in the youth department of AC Milan . The midfielder made his debut on 20 May 2007 at the home game against Udinese Calcio in Serie A . He did not manage to play in the first team in Milan and was awarded to the then second division FC Bologna for the 2007/08 season . There he was part of the regular squad and received many assignments. In his sixth league appearance for Bologna on November 3, 2007 in the away game at FC Modena , Di Gennaro scored his first goal. In the summer of 2008 a transfer deal between AC Milan and CFC Genoa was announced. The Genoese striker Marco Borriello moved to Milan, in exchange Genoa received the transfer rights from Di Gennaro. He completed his only game for Genoa on the first day of the 2008/09 season and was then awarded to league rivals Reggina Calcio until the end of the season.

The midfielder was one of Reggina's top performers and scored his first goal in Serie A against AC Milan on February 8, 2009 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium . The game ended in a 1-1 draw. At the end of the season, the Milanese bought the transfer rights back to Di Gennaro. After an injury, he missed the start of the 2009/10 season and then fell out for several months.

On January 29, 2010, AC Milan announced the loan of midfield players to AS Livorno until the end of the season . He made his debut for Livorno on February 6, 2010 in the home game against Juventus Turin , when he came on in the 85th minute for attacker Claudio Bellucci . For the 2010/11 season he was awarded to the second division team Calcio Padova .

National team

Di Gennaro went through all of Italy's youth selections since the U-16s and was appointed to the squad of the Italian U-21 selection for the first time in 2007 by national coach Pierluigi Casiraghi , for which he made his debut on November 18, 2008 in the match against Germany. In 2009 he was used in three other games of the U-21, but could not record a goal.
