Marco Borriello (born June 18, 1982 in Naples ) is an Italian football player who plays in the position of a center forward.
Career
society
AC Milan and loan stations
Marco Borriello started his career in the youth teams of AC Milan . He gained his first professional experience in 2001 at the US Triestina , to which he was loaned. In the 2001/02 season he then moved to FBC Treviso on loan , where he became a regular player. The following season Borriello was loaned to Serie A club FC Empoli . After a season at Milan in which he had four league appearances, the Neapolitan was loaned to Reggina Calcio for the 2004/05 season and Sampdoria Genoa in 2005/06 , where he was regularly used. Borriello was brought back for the 2006/07 season and tried his luck again at AC Milan. After the championship game against AS Roma, Borriello tested positive for cortisone and banned for several months. In the 2007/08 season he played for CFC Genoa , who bought 50% of his transfer rights, and established himself as one of the most accurate scorers in Serie A with 19 goals in 35 games. Since the 2008/09 season , Marco Borriello has been playing again for his youth club AC Milan, which again secured the services of the striker for around 7.5 million euros.
AS Roma
In August 2010 Borriello was about to move to Juventus Turin , after this burst, he joined AS Roma on loan until the end of the season. After he was able to convince coach Claudio Ranieri in the 2010/11 season , the capitals finally signed him in the summer of 2011.
Loan to Turin
In the winter break of 2011/12 Borriello was loaned to Juventus Turin. The rental fee was 500,000 euros. At the end of the season he could be signed for eight million euros. However, Juventus Turin did not take this purchase option, so Borriello returned to AS Roma.
Loan to West Ham United
During the winter break of the 2013/14 season, he moved to West Ham United on loan for six months .
Switch to Cagliari Calcio
For the 2016/2017 season, the now 34-year-old Borriello moved permanently to Cagliari Calcio . This is his 16th position as a professional.
SPAL Ferrara
In the summer of 2017, Borriello moved to Serie A promoted SPAL Ferrara .
National team
After Marco Borriello had already played for the U-20 and U-21 elections of his country, he made his debut under coach Roberto Donadoni on February 6, 2008 in the 3-1 win against Portugal in the national team of Italy, for which he played seven times so far.
