The newspaper de Stentor is a Dutch regional newspaper with an editorial office in Zwolle . The newspaper appears Monday through Saturday in tabloid format. The newspaper is published by Wegener, where other regional newspapers appear with BN / De Stem , Brabants Dagblad , Eindhovens Dagblad , De Gelderlander , Provinciale Zeeuwse Courant and De Twentsche Courant Tubantia . The paid circulation in the first quarter of 2008 was 127,837 copies. The editor-in-chief is Alex Engbers.

The newspaper was created in 2003 as a general title for the local editions Apeldoornse Courant , Dagblad Flevoland , Deventer Dagblad , Gelders Dagblad , Nieuw Kamper Dagblad , Sallands Dagblad , Veluws Dagblad , Zutphens Dagblad and Zwolse Courant . The distribution area covers large parts of the Netherlands from Flevoland over the Achterhoek and the north-east of Overijssel to the south-east of the Veluwe .

The newspaper has editorial offices in Dronten , Emmeloord , Epe , Harderwijk , Kampen , Lochem , Ommen , Raalte , Zutphen and Zwartsluis , and other publishing offices are in Apeldoorn (2), Deventer and Zwolle.

(* 1) The Gelders Dagblad was created on February 1, 1992 from the earlier newspapers De Vallei (founded in 1926), Edese Courant (founded in the 1920s) and the local edition "Wageningen" of the Arnhemse Courant (founded 1814). May 1993 the Nijmeegs Dagblad was added. On November 5, 2001, three local editions of Gelders Dagblad , "Betuwe & Liemers", "Graafschap / Achterhoek" and "Vallei / Veluwe", were received by De Gelderlander , the remaining part of Gelders Dagblad became de Stentor in 2003 : Gelders Dagblad .

(* 2) The Zutphens Dagblad (the name was shortened in 1955, previously it was Zutphens dagblad voor Graafschap en Veluwezoom ) became a local edition of the Gelders Dagblad in 1994 (see previous note). Since the integration of this sheet into de Stentor there is again a separate edition with the name Zutphens Dagblad .

On February 6, 2007, the broadsheet was switched to the more compact tabloid format.
