Dean-Charles Chapman (born September 7, 1997 in Essex , England ) is a British actor who became famous for the role of Tommen Baratheon in the HBO series Game of Thrones .

life and career

Chapman was born in Essex in 1997 and appeared for the first time in the musical Billy Elliot at the age of eight . He took on various roles in it until 2011. In between, several appearances in British television series followed. In 2012 he played the lead role of Stanley Brown in the series The Revolting World of Stanley Brown .

He gained notoriety primarily through his appearances in the HBO series Game of Thrones . So he first embodied the role of Martyn Lannister in two episodes of the third season , before he was cast again from the fourth season from 2014 for the role of the prince and later king Tommen Baratheon , replacing Callum Wharry , who this role in the first two Held seasons. He also made his film debut in 2014 in the thriller Me. May. Not. Sleep. Other guest appearances followed, including in Ripper Street , Will and Into the Badlands . In 2018 he was seen in the action film The Commuter .

In 2019 he took on a central role in the 1917 war film from director Sam Mendes .
