history

founding

Deepfield was founded in Charleston in 2005 by Baxter Teal, Eric Bass (now bassist with Shinedown ), Russell Lee (drums) and J. King (originally on bass, after the departure of Eric Bass on guitar). The name of the group comes from the Hubble Deep Field , a part of space that was recorded in December 1995 with the Hubble space telescope with the maximum resolution technically possible at the time. After recording a demo tape with three songs, the group surprisingly found themselves at a gig in New York, where they were immediately signed by radio promoter Bill McGathy for his new label In de Goot Recordings.

After signing a contract with In de Goot Recordings (Fontana / Universal) in 2006, the band withdrew for a year to write songs and then with producers Paul Ebersold and Skidd Mills (3 Doors Down, Saliva, Third Day, Skillet, Saving Abel) recorded a total of seventy demo tapes, which ultimately resulted in twelve songs for their debut album Archetypes and Repetition (2007).

Aron Robinson added Deepfield as a further band member on the "Cage Rattle Most Wanted Tour" in 2008; PJ Farley, also bassist for the rock band Ra (Universal), completed the band in 2009, and Sean von Tersch in 2010.

Archetypes and Repetition

The band released their album Archetypes and Repetition in 2007, and went on an extensive US concert tour from 2007 to 2009, after the release of the singles Get It and Into the Flood . Both singles can still be heard on the satellite radio providers XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio , and Get It is often used as the opening music for the Howard Stern Show .

The album title Don't Let Go (Love) , a cover version of the title of the same name by R&B band En Vogue , was never released as a singles title, but was also played on the radio.

Deepfield undertook the concert tour in support of the album Archetypes and Repitition together with the groups Shinedown , Puddle of Mudd , Saliva Chevelle , Saving Abel , Drowning Pool , Tantric , Nonpoint and The Exies .

Nothing Can Save Us Now

Nothing Can Save Us Now is the title of Deepfield's second album, released on December 6, 2011 on Skiddco Music . The only single from the new album so far is Nothing Left to Lose .
