The dyke and sewer association St. Jürgensfeld is a dike association as well as water and soil association based in Lilienthal in the district of Osterholz .

Association area

The Deich- und Sielverband St. Jürgensfeld is responsible for an area of ​​around 5,300  hectares in the communities of Lilienthal and Ritterhude . The association area is bounded in the south by the Wümme . In the west, the association border follows the dike leading to the Hamme , in the north it roughly follows the municipal border with Worpswede , and then runs through the district of Lüningsee, which belongs to Worphausen , through the district of Kleinmoor, which belongs to St. Jürgen, and the districts of Klostermoor and Trupermoor , before entering Falkenberg meets the dike line west of the Wörpe .

In the association area there are 14.95 km of flood protection dykes on the Wümme (from the L  133 in Truperdeich to Lesum ) and 1.79 km of flood protection dikes on the Hamme (from the Ritterhude lock to Lesum) and around 4.7 km of flood protection dikes on the Hamme above the Ritterhude lock (from the K  9 near Moorhausen to the Ritterhude lock).

tasks

The tasks of the dike and sewer association include u. a. the protection of the properties in the association area from storm surges and floods as well as the maintenance of bodies of water.

Association structure

The association is represented by a 12-person committee. The committee for its part elects the seven-member executive board. The committee and board are elected for five years.

Members of the association are all landowners , apartment owners and leaseholders of the properties in the association area as real members and corporations under public law as corporate members.
