The Deipensiefen is a left tributary of the Wupper , which is called Wipper here in the upper reaches, near Marienheide - Börlinghausen .
geography
course
The stream rises 422 m above sea level in the eastern part of the Gervershagen forest in several sources, some of which are referred to as Milbiquelle , and flows in a north-northwest direction through the 7-hectare nature reserve Quellbach and deciduous forest area Deipensiefen (identifier: GM-080, CDDA code : 344745). The protection was placed, among other things, to secure and develop the near-natural source brook area of a typical low mountain range with brook-accompanying and adjacent hardwood stands. The spring area consists of basic springs, pond springs, seepage springs and swamp springs.
The brook takes on three unnamed smaller tributaries on the left and passes under the Hagen – Dieringhausen railway line and the Zur Wupperquelle road near two trees that are protected as a natural monument. A few meters further on, it flows into the Wipper at 386 m.
Catchment area
The catchment area of the Deipensiefen is drained to the North Sea via the Wupper and Rhine .
It borders
- in the east to that of the Agger tributary Genkel
- in the south-east of the Fleiensiefen , a tributary of the Genkel
- and the Wolfsgruber Bach , a tributary of the Wipper, competes in the west .
Most of the western and central areas are forested, while grassland is predominant in the eastern area. The estuary is characterized by fields and meadows.
The highest point is the height at 444.5 m .
