Delphine Py-Bilot (born Delphine Py on January 27, 1979 in Montpellier ) is a former French triathlete .

Career

Py-Bilot made her international breakthrough in 1999 with the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships in Madeira and 5th place at the Junior World Championships in Montreal . By then she had already won the French national triathlon championships in her respective age group: in 1994 in the "minime" category, in 1996 as "cadette", and in 1998 and 1999 in the "junior" age group.

Py-Bilot took part in ITU World Cup competitions from 2000 to 2002. She achieved her best placement in 2001 when she was 15th in the competition in Cancun .

She started since 2003 in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux for the multiple champion Beauvais Triathlon. Py-Bilot has not taken part in an ITU competition since 2008, but was able to assert herself as a "veteran" both nationally and internationally. On August 2, 2009, she finished 7th at the Mazda London Triathlon (not to be confused with the London Triathlon of the Dextro Energy Championship Series) and was ahead of the young stars Jodie Stimpson (8th), Sophie Coleman (9th). ) and Maxine Seear (10th).

Py-Bilot is best known in France as the elite triathlete of her club Beauvais Triathlon, whose women's team won the Lyonnaise des Eaux club championship in 2009 and 2010 and at the 2010 national club championship (Coupe de France des Clubs de Triathlon) in Parthenay Finished second. In 2011 the club boycotted the championship series, which is why Py-Bilot changed clubs and represented Charleville Triathlon Ardennes .
In September 2013, the 34-year-old declared her professional career over.

Private

Delphine Py-Bilot has been married to Wilfrid Bilot since 2006, lives in her native Montpellier and works as a mathematics teacher at the Collège du Pic St. Loup in St. Clément de Rivière near Montpellier.
