Career
Denis Tolpeko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of Vityas Podolsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the second-rate Vysschaya League in the 2002/03 season . He then moved to the Canadian top junior league Western Hockey League , in which he was active from 2003 to 2006 for the Seattle Thunderbirds and Regina Pats .
Thereupon the center received on July 5, 2006 as a free agent a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers , for their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Philadelphia Phantoms , he played exclusively in the 2006/07 season. In the following season, the Russian made his debut for the Flyers in the National Hockey League , in which he scored a total of six scorer points, including one goal, in 26 games. However, he spent most of the season again with their AHL farm team, which is why he returned to his Russian homeland in summer 2008. There he was signed by HK Dynamo Moscow from the newly founded Continental Hockey League , with which he won the Spengler Cup in the same year . For the 2010/11 season , the HK Dynamo Moscow was merged with the HK MWD Balaschicha and Tolpeko received a contract with its successor team OHK Dynamo , for which he was on the ice in the KHL until 2013 and won the Gagarin Cup twice. In May 2013 it was exchanged for Maxim Pestushko from Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk .
For Neftechimik he completed 38 games and scored 10 points scorer before he was given to Salawat Julajew Ufa in January 2014 for a compensation payment . He played there until the end of the 2014/15 season and made 70 appearances in the KHL. He then left the club and moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in July 2015 , before being handed over to Amur Khabarovsk in October of the same year . For Amur he completed 35 KHL games by the end of the season and was then under contract with HK Sochi . In December 2016 he changed clubs again and played for HK Spartak Moscow until September 2017 .
