Denniz PoP
Denniz PoP (born April 26, 1963 in Norway , † August 30, 1998 in Solna , Sweden ; actually Dag Krister Volle ) was a Swedish DJ , remixer , composer and music producer .
Career
In the 1980s he began his career as a DJ in clubs in Stockholm . In 1986 he founded his own record company SweMix , for which he initially produced remix albums by various artists. He later published his own songs there, including for Rob'n'Raz and Kayo, with which he became known mainly in Sweden.
From 1990 he produced and wrote songs for Dr. Alban ( Hello Africa ) and Leila K. ( Open Sesame ), who were able to celebrate international successes: Dr. Alban has sold eleven million records worldwide to date, the song It's My Life rose to number 1 in the German charts in 1992 . Leila K. ( Best Selling Female Artist in Europe 1993) achieved great fame through a style of music also known as " Euro-Dance ", a mixture of rap and dance floor .
In 1992 he founded the Cheiron Studios in Stockholm and brought a hitherto unknown quartet of young Swedish artists to the top of the charts: Ace of Base , which it is no coincidence that they are very similar to ABBA , achieved great popularity worldwide through songs like All That She Wants or Don't Turn Around . Her first album alone sold over 21 million copies and reached number 1 on the album charts in Germany as well as in Great Britain and the USA.
With the establishment of the Cheiron Studios, Denniz PoP began to recruit previously unknown musicians and composers whose music became world famous over time. From 1992 PoP worked with Max Martin , the result of the work include songs for Ace of Base ( Never Gonna Say I'm Sorry ), Backstreet Boys ( We've Got It Goin 'On ) and * NSYNC ( I Want You Back ). He also worked with Kristian Lundin , who in turn worked for Dr. Alban or the Backstreet Boys produced.
death
In the fall of 1997 Denniz PoP was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He died the following year at the age of 35. He left a partner and an eleven-year-old son.
The Backstreet Boys dedicated the video of their song Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely to him .
