DerMarr Johnson (born May 5, 1980 in Washington, DC ) is an American basketball player .
The 2.06 m tall and 95 kg heavy DerMarr plays in the small forward position . Prior to joining the NBA, he played for the University of Cincinnati College . In the 2000 NBA Draft , Johnson was drafted sixth by the Atlanta Hawks .
After a serious car accident in 2002, his career was interrupted for a long time. After recovering, he joined the American Basketball Association at the Long Beach Jam, where he played 19 games. In the 2003/04 season he moved back to the NBA for the New York Knicks . Before the 2004/05 season he went to the Denver Nuggets , for which he then played for three years.
After starting the 2007/08 season in Italy with Benetton Treviso , he moved to the Austin Toros in the NBA Development League in November 2007 . On December 29, 2007 , he then signed a contract with the San Antonio Spurs , the Toros NBA owner team. However, he was released after only three games on January 7, 2008 by the Spurs. He was then reassigned to the Austin Toros on January 9th . On April 11, Johnson got another contract with the Spurs.
TheMarr Johnson signed on September 22, 2008 as a free agent with the Washington Wizards . However, he was released on October 21st.
In the following years he played in various clubs around the world. Like last time in the Dominican Republic for Cupes De Los Pepines .
