The car vampire or the vampire from the Ferat ( . Tschech title Upir for Feratu ) is a Czechoslovak horror - science fiction film of 1981. In Germany, it was the first time on 15 March 1985 at the German television station ZDF showed.

It is based on the story Vampire Ltd. by the Czech science fiction author Josef Nesvadba . It was produced in the Barrandov Film Studios in Prague, directed by Juraj Herz .

The story is about a revolutionary sports car - the vampire from manufacturer Ferat . The emergency doctor Dr. Marek and the paramedic Mima are called when a racing driver of the test car complains of pain and can barely control the car. Dr. Marek tries to solve the mystery around the car. It turns out that the car doesn't need gasoline, but human blood .

"Perfectly staged and visually imaginative, bizarre horror film, which with its satirical tips against the exaggerated car cult again and again achieves cheerful breaks."

Remarks

The vehicle shown in the film is a super sports - prototype of Skoda based on the Skoda 110 Super Sport (Type 724).

The original Czech title Upír z Feratu also allows the reading “Vampire Nosferatu”, while the names of the protagonists Mima and Luisa allude to the Dracula victims Mina and Lucy in Bram Stoker .
