The pitchfork murder is a German television film by Walter Bannert from 1998 based on a screenplay by Franz Xaver Sengmüller . It is the 17th episode of the crime series Der Bulle von Tölz with Ottfried Fischer as the main actor in the role of Chief Inspector Benno Berghammer. It was first broadcast on May 17, 1998 on Sat.1 .
action
In Schwaigham, farmer Ambros Hobelsberger is stabbed with a pitchfork on his farm and then killed with a hammer. There is no shortage of suspects, Commissioner Benno Berghammer and his colleague Sabrina Lorenz: Hobelsberger's wife Cora hated her husband because he treated her like a prisoner on the remote farm since he lost his manhood two and a half years earlier in an accident. Dorfcasanova Leo Ganser has had an eye on Cora for a long time and perhaps wanted to get the annoying rival out of the way. For the building contractor Anton Ramboldt, the purchase of the farm and the construction of a golf course would have meant a hefty profit, but Sturkopf Hobelsberger did not allow himself to be negotiated until the end. The murder comes in handy for the neighbors, Martin and Anni Prankl, because Ramboldt absolutely needs both farms, which means a rich windfall for the Prankls. But because all suspects have an alibi, the investigation goes in circles until a junkie from Bad Tölz dies from a syringe with high-purity heroin . In his accommodation, the detective found slogans on the wall, including “Best Blessings from Altötting”, the same slogan as on a medallion that was found at the crime scene.
Anni Prankl catches her husband red-handed with Cora Hobelsberger, without the two noticing, and moves to Benno Berghamer's mother Resi's pension. The betrayed wife says she was blind, the relationship may have existed for months or even years. Although she did not understand what the two were talking about, the situation clearly indicated that they had something to do with the murder.
When the inspectors Martin Prankl and Cora Hobelsberger want to arrest, Prankl is driving to dispose of the murder weapon, the hammer, in the Isar . Martin Prankl hired the junkie, Cora Hobelsberger hired him to kill her husband, and Prankl got the junkie the heroin, the purity of which led to the overdose.
