Markus Neumaier

Markus Neumaier (* 1965 in Berchtesgaden , Upper Bavaria ) is a German actor .

Life

Training and stage

Neumaier is the son of a Munich butcher and a Berchtesgaden actress. His mother played professionally in the Berchtesgadener Bauerntheater ; from his father he learned to shoeplate . Neumaier appeared on stage for the first time at the age of just under four. At the age of ten he played his first film role as Pepperl, Adrian Hoven's little son, in Alfred Vohrer's remake of Ludwig Ganghofer's novel Der Edelweißkönig (1975) .

At the insistence of his father, Neumaier first learned a "solid" profession and became a gas and water fitter . From 1987 he appeared again and again at the Chiemgauer Volkstheater and other popular theaters , until two years later he finally decided to turn acting into a profession. In his early years as an actor, he also worked as a beer driver and for a plumber, helped out at the ski lift and performed as a Schuhplattler in Munich's Platzl and Hofbräuhaus .

From 1990 he took private acting lessons. In the 1990/91 season he came to the Munich Iberl stage , where he was a permanent member of the ensemble until 2006. From 1992 to 2014 he was also a permanent member of the Chiemgauer Volkstheater; he still appears there as a guest. He had other theater engagements in the Pasinger factory (2007) and at the cultural summer Garmisch-Partenkirchen (2008; with the title role in Räuber Hotzenplotz ). In 2008 he played the "dodgy" miner Pfnüer in the musical Salzsaga at the Theater am Königssee . In April 2009 he played the “Lord of Darkness” in the Jesus musical 2000 Years of Jesus , a production by the composer Klaus Ammann and the director Barbara Mende . In May 2009 he was a guest at the Kleine Komödie am Max II in the mistaken comedy Graf Schorschi by Carl Borro Schwerla .

Television and film

Neumaier was also often seen on television from the 1990s, mainly in productions of Bavarian TV , where he almost exclusively embodied characters with a South German , Upper Bavarian or Austrian background. He was consistently cast in the role of folk actor . Occasionally he also took on cinema roles under the direction of Marcus H. Rosenmüller , for example as Müller in Räuber Kneißl (2008) and as Bauer Kainz in Sommer in Orange (2010).

From 1993 Neumaier took part in TV recordings from the Chiemgauer Volkstheater in over 50 productions.

He was seen several times in leading and supporting roles in the BR television series Der Komödienstadel , almost every year from 2002, sometimes even in several productions in one year. His roles in the comedy nobility included the manager Isidor Wendlinger in Das Attenhamer Christkindl (2003), the farmer's son Michl Schrothammer in The shy yard (2005; main role), the pharmacist Dr. Held in Links Rechts Gradaus (2007), the farmer and weightlifter Martin Adambauer in Adam and Eve in Paradise (2008; leading role and double role), the messenger Michl in Die Schöne Münchnerin (2008), the womanizer Georg “Girgl” Dillinger in Das Kreuz with the sisters (2010; main role), the large farmer Korbinian Lang in Die Provinzdiva (2011), the gravedigger Ignaz Hartl in A Flascherl vom Glück (2011), the neighbor Florian Thalmaier in Herz ist Gold (2011), the husband and hut guest Bertl Sagerer in Alpenglühn and Männertreu (2014) and the “sporty” postman Willi Winkler in Göttinnen weissblau (2016). His comedy nobility partners included Corinna Binzer , Sara Sommerfeldt , Saskia Vester , Johanna Bittenbinder and Heide Ackermann .

He also had episode roles in the television series Der Bergdoktor (1997–1998; as a village policeman Speckbacher), Der Bulle von Tölz (1997/1998), Café Meineid (1998), Der Kaiser von Schexing (2009), Munich 7 (2014) and Hubert and Staller (2017).

Private

Neumaier's interest is in ice hockey . When SC Reichersbeuern he was also active as a player. Together with ex-national players and citizens of Tölz, he founded the “Sternstunden” ice hockey team, organizes the team's charity games and is involved in various social projects, including the care of coma patients. He was also the assistant coach of the EC Bad Tölz junior team under Mike Daski .

His hobbies include mountaineering (including climbing the Watzmann- Ostwand), mountain biking , skiing and diving . Neumaier lives in Feldkirchen near Egling and in Munich.
