It was first broadcast on February 4, 1996 on Sat.1 .

action

A charred corpse with no head and no hands is found in a burned-down hay barn belonging to farmer Anton Lang. Martin Lang, the farmer's son, comes into question as the victim, because he has disappeared without a trace since a violent argument with his father. Due to the brutality, however, Commissioner Benno Berghammer assumes that it is a mafia murder. The autopsy also reveals that the dead man was wearing Italian clothes and had Italian food in his stomach.

The organic gardener and greengrocer Giovanni Cimulai, who is friends with Benno Berghammer, has chosen the Italian waiter Mario Donizetti as the husband for his 18-year-old daughter, but she is in love with the brothel owner Sigi Schröder. One evening Giovanni discovers that Angela has secretly left the house through the bedroom window. In anger, he drives to Schröder and rioted until he was taken into police custody. Inspector Berghammer takes him out of the cell and promises to bring his daughter back. When Schröder tries to force Angela into prostitution , she defends herself and bites him, whereupon he lets her go, especially since he learns from his manager that Inspector Berghammer has threatened to inform Angela's father about what business he is doing if that is the case Girl isn't home at 12 noon.

Commissioner Sabrina Lorenz receives information from the LKA that Mario Donizetti, Giovanni's desired son-in-law, is a member of the Sicilian Mafia . She suspects that Giovanni Cimulai is also a mafioso, but Berghammer refuses to believe that. He asks her to investigate Donizetti.

Meanwhile, a dog has dug up the victim's head and hands. The genetic analysis shows that it is a southerner, whereupon the commissioners finally assume that the mafia is behind it. When they want to inform farmer Lang that the dead man is not his son, Martin Lang comes out of the house. The reason for his disappearance was an argument with his father, who was against converting the farm to organic farming; now he has given in and given the farm to the junior.

Giovanni Cimulai shoots a compatriot - according to his own statements in self-defense. Since the greengrocer does not pay protection money, Benno Berghammer gradually suspects that his friend is hiding something from him. A finance officer friend of mine gives the inspector access to Cimulai's file, which shows that the greengrocer pays much more tax than his business can yield. Giovanni claims he is investing his Sicilian family's money in German real estate.

Berghammer introduces Angela Cimulai and Martin Lang, who get on well from the start, especially since both are on the organic track.

The superintendent learns from an informant from the hotel industry that several Sicilians have checked in and secretly photographs them when they turn up at Giovanni Cimulai's. The LKA has now identified the dead man from the hay barn and has placed investigator Eustachius "Eusi" Bernhard at the side of the inspectors, because the corpse was a professional mafia killer and the man who was shot by Cimulai was also a mafioso. The LKA official suspects that Giovanni Cimulai is the head of the family for Upper Bavaria; What is certain for him, however, is that the killer squad comes from his own ranks. Benno Berghammer suspects the reason for the attempted murder of Giovanni is that he could have managed to get money into his own pocket.

Angela Cimulai introduces Martin Lang to her father and announces that he wants to get married, but he is still not interested in a German son-in-law and sends him off. Angela stands firm and goes with Martin.

With a faked confession, written by Benno Berghammer, in which Giovanni Cimulai claims to know the murderer of the charred victim, the two inspectors confront Mario Donizetti. With the impending life sentence in mind, he breaks his silence and reports that Giovanni is the murderer.

While Angela and Martin are in the bedroom in the attic, Giovanni Cimulai comes into the farm of the farmer Lang and loudly demands his daughter. Anton Lang invites him for a snack and says that if he wants to keep his daughter, he must let her go. When Giovanni speaks disparagingly about Martin, Anton Lang challenges him to a shooting competition. Angela and Martin hear the shots and rush out. To their relief, their fathers only shoot bottles. Impressed by the accuracy of his opponent, Giovanni finally gives his blessing on the marriage.

Berghammer and Lorenz work to ensure that Giovanni Cimulai is arrested only after his daughter's engagement party. The LKA officer is skeptical, but agrees. Nevertheless, the special task force bursts into the middle of the celebration, because immediate access was ordered by the LKA headquarters.
