The farrier (original title: The Blacksmith ; Alternative title: His fortune ) is an American short film - slapstick - comedy from 1922 with Buster Keaton in the title role, which is also shared with Malcolm St. Clair was responsible for screenwriting and directing.

action

As the farrier's assistant, Buster Keaton doesn't make things any easier for his master. Among other things, he only attaches the horseshoes to a gray horse with a very picky horseshoe taste instead of properly shod the horse; he drives up to his master and locks him up; he sells a non-working saddle shock absorber to the owner of a brown horse and destroys the automobiles that should be repaired in the forge. Pursued by the injured party furiously, Buster Keaton runs away in the end and goes on her honeymoon with the mold owner.

The Farrier premiered in the United States on July 21, 1922. The film had its German premiere on August 21, 1925 under the title Seines Glückes Schmied .
