action

The servants Keaton and Roberts live in a modest hut and have come to terms with cramped conditions in their housing. However, the two have a completely different problem, they have fallen in love with the daughter of the farmer and want her a marriage proposal make.

When they both want to speak to her, the farmer appears and sends his daughter into the house. There she bakes a cream cake that is eaten by the farm dog a little later . When Keaton comes to the farm to become engaged to her, he is so frightened by the white foam in front of the dog's mouth that he flees from it. Roberts runs to the nearest pharmacy and gets everything there to treat him if necessary. Keaton loses his clothes and makes peace with the dog.

Roberts is hit by a truck and has to take care of himself because the truck driver has hit the road. He returns to the farm and proposes to the farmer's daughter in this condition. She rejects this. Meanwhile, Keaton returns to the farm in his underwear to propose to her as well. He is scared away by the farmer. He flees to a scarecrow and completely new clothes.

After annoying the farmer and his competitor several times, he has to flee from their anger and proposes to the farmer's daughter. Together they flee into town and steal first a horse and then a motorcycle. The farmer races after them in his car. During their escape, they take a pastor in their car, whom they then trust in church while they are driving.
