Differences from the book

The cinematic implementation does not show many deviations from the original. Storylines have been partially expanded so that the plot of each episode has the same effect.

  • Mrs. Barrymore is absent when Watson and Sir Henry catch their husband sending light signals to Selden.
  • Holmes, Watson and Lestrade do not catch up with Stapleton when he escapes into the moor after the assassination attempt on Sir Henry and they also don't watch him sink into the moor. Furthermore, Holmes does not fall into the moor and must be saved.
