Klüden was first mentioned in a document in 1472. In the middle of a large swamp area, it was laid out in a horseshoe shape, which has been preserved to this day. Until 1956, Klüden was still written with a C. The first school was built in 1790, the second school was built in 1865 and the last one in 1930. In 1894 the construction of the Neuhaldensleben - Klüden - Gardelegen road was completed. In 1898 there was a steam dairy and a spirit distillery. From 1911 to 1951 there was also a rail connection to the small railway line in Klüden, which ran to Neuhaldensleben via Bülstringen, Satuelle, Uthmöden, Pax (near Dorst), Zobbenitz, Klüden, Roxförde, ... Gardelegen. In 1950 the place was assigned to the district of Haldensleben (as long as the district of Gardelegen) after a district straightening. In the seventies a bathing establishment was built by the townspeople.

On January 1, 2010, the communities of Klüden, Berenbrock (with the former districts of Elsebeck and Lössewitz ), Dorst , Grauingen , Mannhausen , Velsdorf , Wegenstedt and Zobbenitz merged with the town of Calvörde to form the new community of Calvörde.

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on July 17, 1996 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : "In green a golden bell on a leafy golden branch draped with three golden pears."

There is a legend about Klüden that in earlier times the congregation had a bell but no church building. In order to still call the believers to prayer or to announce fires and other unusual features, the bell was simply hung in a large pear tree that stood in the village.

The municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch designed the coat of arms in 1995 according to this tradition on behalf of the municipality and introduced it into the approval process. In the sense of pars pro toto , a complete tree was not included in the coat of arms, but symbolized by a branch on which leaves and pears hang. Since the municipality is located in the middle of forests (the Colbitz-Letzlinger-Heide borders the district), green was chosen as the shield color.

The colors of the former municipality are: yellow - green

flag
