Elsebeck is a district of the municipality of Calvörde in the district of Börde in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Elsebeck is about 5 km north of Calvörde on the edge of the Drömling nature park and the Altmark . It is the northernmost part of the municipality of Calvörde. Elsebeck is east of the Ohre and is characterized by grassland, arable land and mixed forest.
history
Historically, Elsebeck is connected to the areas of Calvörde as the exclave of the Principality of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel . Elsebeck is first mentioned in a document in 1539. From the literature it can be seen that the place belonged to Calvörde Castle around 1510 and has been part of the Calvörde church play since 1594. In 1760 a small chapel was built for prayer lessons and teaching children. This is still used today.
Elsebeck was incorporated into Berenbrock on July 1, 1950 . Extensive street renaming was carried out in 2006. The house numbers have also been changed. On January 1, 2010, the communities of Berenbrock (with Elsebeck and Lössewitz ), Dorst , Grauingen , Klüden , Mannhausen , Velsdorf , Wegenstedt and Zobbenitz merged with the town of Calvörde to form the new municipality of Calvörde.
