action

He is neither a lord nor does he use a submachine gun (MP), but he lives in a Scottish castle: Simon Templar , a successful soloist in international gang circles, reverently called "The Holy One". This time he is not planning a new coup, but instead helps his friend Oscar Chartier out of gratitude for a former life saver, who not only has not paid a middleman for any documents, but also turned the worthless things on to two secret services. So now three parties are after the sum that Oscar's friends have taken into custody, but always pass on to each other. “The Holy One” does not shy away from a journey, however long, to bring the bundles of banknotes intended as trousseau for Oscar's daughter Sophie to safety.

After several adventures and in possession of the fortune, Simon Templar has the greatest effort to dissuade Oscar, who has become honest through various brainwashing, from voluntarily returning the illegally received wages.

Reviews

The Protestant film observer judges rather mediocre: “Christian-Jaque is a multi-talented director. Lately, however, his films have also become more and more serial products and only show in details that liveliness that he achieved most perfectly in the cheerful area in 1951 with ' Fanfan, der Husar '. [...] Heavily coarse parody of agent films. Better for adults than plenty of turbulent entertainment. ”The lexicon of international film comes to a better assessment :“ Turbulent and imaginative modification of the usual adventure film. ”
