Der Student von Bochum is a German short film by Frederic Lippe from 2015. It was produced as the final production of the Digital Film & VFX course at the SAE Institute in Bochum. The student from Bochum deals with the phenomenon of procrastination using the example of a student who repeatedly postpones the preparation of an essay on film history. Both the title of the film and the names of two characters refer to the silent film The Student of Prague .
action
The student Andy Georg Bill Balduin only has one day left to submit an essay on film history. At first he decided to go to work, but was distracted by a poster from Charlie Chaplin . Balduin then finds himself in a scene that is stylistically oriented towards silent films . Overseer Henry gives Balduin various work orders that Balduin is not able to carry out to his satisfaction. When Henry finally asks him about his housework, Baldwin wakes up, startled. Annoyed, he fetches something from the refrigerator when a figure dressed in black becomes recognizable in the next room. Baldwin suddenly finds himself running in a snowy forest. He is followed by a person wearing a Freddy Krueger mask . When the two fight, Baldwin manages to unmask his opponent, who turns out to be himself. Baldwin wakes up again and opens the front door to his friend Rudi Scapinelli. This distracts him from work. Annoyed by Scapinelli, he tries to relax, whereupon he suddenly sits in an interrogation room. Detective Morpheus accuses him of an unspecified crime. Baldwin protests his innocence until Morpheus tells him to wake up. Baldwin wakes to find that there are two weeks left until the deadline.
