My best friend's father (original title: Un moment d'égarement ) is a French film by Jean-François Richet from 2015 .
The German theatrical release was on September 24, 2015. On February 26, 2016, the film was finally released in Germany on DVD and Blu-Ray .

The two friends Antoine and Laurent are on vacation with their daughters Marie and Louna in Antoine's parents' house on the island of Corsica . The easygoing Laurent is already separated from his wife, and Antoine, in temporary separation, seems to only annoy his wife with control calls. Her two adolescent daughters, aged 17 and 18, take part in the fathers' daily program, but have a different idea of vacation in the evening and want to go to parties.
While Laurent takes it easy, what he allows his daughter Marie, Antoine is more strict. After Laurent is chosen by his friend Antoine to be the watchdog at a rave because of a flirtation, it becomes apparent that Louna has obviously fallen in love with him. She seduces her best friend's drunk father on the beach. While he would like to forget the slip up the next morning, Louna gets lost in the idea of loving him. For a long time Laurent is unable to confess the story to Antoine, who is obsessed with the wild boars that are devastating his garden, also because he becomes enraged after Louna's anonymous confession that he has an older friend.
Previous films
It is a remake of the film Un moment d'égarement by Claude Berri of the same name in the original French title from 1977, which was shown in Germany under All Beginnings is Fun or A Moment of Confusion . The material was remade in the USA in 1984 under the title Guilty It Is Rio .
criticism
The film service judges that the remake "cannot hold a candle to the original [...] in terms of atmosphere or content". The “staging of the stale male fantasy does not pursue any original ideas; the characters are under-complex, the smooth, brightly colored aesthetics are reminiscent of flat TV pictures and even as a buddy movie, the harmless film looks rather limp ”.
