Derik Osede Prieto , known by his first name Derik (born February 21, 1993 in Madrid ), is a Spanish football player . His preferred position is central defense . He is currently under contract with CD Numancia .

Club career

Derik, the son of a Nigerian and a Spaniard, began playing football as a junior at the small Madrid club DAV Santa Ana . In July 2002, the then nine-year-old switched to Real Madrid's offspring , where he started in the Benjamin A (U-10) team. From then on he went through various age groups until he was accepted into the squad of the club's C-team in the 2011/12 season. On October 20, 2012, he played his first encounter for Real Madrid Castilla in the Segunda División against FC Córdoba .

For the 2015/16 season Derik moved to the Bolton Wanderers .

National team

Derik played with the Spanish national team to qualify for the U-17 European Football Championship in 2010 , but was ultimately not in the final squad . At the U-19 European Football Championship in 2012 , he was in the starting line-up in all five games and also contributed a goal in the group game against Greece. The Spaniards prevailed in the tournament and won the European Championship title in this age group for the seventh time. Derik made his debut in preparation for the Junior World Championship on May 14, 2013 against the Paraguayan team in the Spanish U-20s. At the World Cup finals in Turkey, he was in the starting line-up in all five matches and scored one goal. The Spaniards failed in the quarter-finals to Uruguay. On March 4, 2014 Derik made his debut in the U-21 national team in a friendly against Germany .
