Derrubadas is a city with around 2,850 (2018 estimate) inhabitants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . It is located about 480 km northwest of Porto Alegre on the border with Argentina ( Misiones province ). Neighboring are the places Barra do Guarita , Esperança do Sul , Vista Gaúcha and Tenente Portela . Originally Derrubadas was part of the Tenente Portela municipality.

About half of the area of ​​Derrubadas is taken up by the Parque Estadual do Turvo with the 1800 m long Salto Yucumã waterfall .
