Desiree Klaeukens (born 1985 in Duisburg, Ruhr area ) is a German singer-songwriter .

Career

Desiree Klaeukens was discovered by Niels Frevert , who also took her on his CD release tour in 2008, You can let me out on the corner, as a support act. In addition to Frevert, Gisbert zu Knyphausen also landed on the then MySpace page of the Berliner-by-choice.

After a few test recordings, occasional support appearances and the like. a. Desiree Klaeukens released her first EP Warm in my Heart for Die Höchste Eisenbahn und Cäthe in 2013 and her debut album When the night covers the day on January 31, 2014 . The sound carrier was produced in the Hafenklang Studios in Hamburg by Stephan Gade and was created together with Florian Glässing, who also accompanied her musically.

In the summer of 2014, she received the Hanns Seidel Foundation's award for young songwriters , which was linked to the presentation at the Songs Festival on a summer evening . She also sang a song by Tom Liwa , who, like her, comes from Duisburg and had a great artistic influence on her. Her performance on November 28, 2014 at the Theaterkahn im Liederwahn in Dresden was recorded by Deutschlandfunk and broadcast on February 6, 2015.

In 2015 Desiree Klaeukens published the song Große Pause on the children's compilation of the Oetinger Verlag Unter mein Bett 1 and thus reached number 1 in the Kiraka (WDR) radio charts.

In 2017 she founded the band Theodor Shitstorm together with the director and filmmaker Dietrich Brüggemann, who released the album You will love yourself on the Staatsakt label in autumn 2018 . The band went on tour for the first time in February 2019.

Klaeukens lives in Berlin and is under contract with the wallpaper Records and Staatsakt label (Theodor Shitstorm).

Klaeukens also became active in 2015 in the feature film Heil (director: Dietrich Brüggemann) as a punk star Sterni together with Moritz Krämer as Hagel in a supporting role. In the crime scene: Murot and the marmot she cast Brüggemann again as an actress.
